Well afer 10 hours of testing, the field of 175 entries are ready to do battle at beautiful Lake Depue. Our thanks to the Depue Men's club and the city of Depue for all of the heard work to put this together. The USTS would like to make sure that Mayor Bryant and all of his helpers know how much we appreciate the efforts of the city and all of the Men's Club in making sure that the first Lake Depue Nationals/USTS Nationals are headed toward success.
Testing was conducted for all open classes and K-Pro on both Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Nobody got wet, but Nicholas Shakeshaft had a bout with a flying carp that put some hurt on his nose and bottom lip. After a quick check by the saftey crew, he was up and about the pit area the rest of the day. I told him he was no more ugly then when I first met him, and he was grateful for that......LOL
Tonight a wonderful event occurred on the lakefront as June Perry and Charley Bradley exchange vows with over 100 friends in attendance. That famous Quicy Welding stalwart, Gene East officiated at the wedding. Cake and a few other adult beverages were had lakeside. A lovely time was had by all.
Tomorrow we kick of the first day of racing and the weather has been phenonomanly as temps were in the 70's both days with minimal humidity. DEPUE??????????????? Looking forward to the weekend, no more than 80 the whole way through.
Good luck to our racers and crew.
