  • Saturday at Constantine

have also posted on USTS Website as well. Sunday's results will be there tomorrow evening.

Some 89 entires began to hit the water today as it cooled off on the weather, buit racing heated up. The best news of the day, no one hit the water!
Thanks to Ralph and Del and the American Legion who held up the great Joe Whetstone legacy and moved on to create their own. Thanks guys, it is much appreciated.

The first class up was 250R with Mike Krier taking home two heats, brother Rich one and Ben Thompson in the middle for a Mike, Ben, Rich finish on the podium.

In 350H, Gary Buskirk made it 3 wins in a row with Plesant Prarie, Winona, and now Constantine. I am sure 4 in a row with the Depue Men's USTS Nationals coming up next week. What was special today, is Gary's boss brought the whole shop down by bus from Traverse City to watch Gary take two heats, What a great feeling for Gary to have that kind of support. David Mitchel won one heat, but David broke shear pins in the other two heats, as Ike Yoder finshed 2nd and Josh Burton, with GrandPa Chuck Davis on the wrenches took a 3rd overall.

In 500R, Brian Payn, driving the Pat and Jim Wright entry had it going today. Brian in the first heat started into the chute, long after the other 8 500's hit the starting line as his engine had loaded up, but driving the wheels off the Krier runabout, he finished 2nd in that heat, getting by everyone except Andrew Thirlby. Mike told me a story of Andrew who finished 2nd to his Dad in the APBA 500R chanpionship. Kingston was Andrew's first run in a 500R and after a couple of laps came in and told his Dad in no uncertain terms he was f(^*^&%&%g crazy for running 500R. Mike laughed and calmed him down, sent him back out for a few more laps. Mike said Andrew hit the button, it threw him to the back of the boat, he would let off and his chin would hit the wheel, but when he came back in, nothing but a grin from ear to ear, and what a job he did today, finishing 2nd overall with the veneable Pete Voss for 2nd.

125H came with another win for our 2013 Hi Point USTS champ as Todd Anderson using all of his experience took home 2 heat wins while Pete Kelly took home a 1st and 2nd to take an overall 2nd with Jake Quesse taking home the 3rd spot. Jake finished one heat as the motor blew up crossing the finish line.

In the K-Pro, another podium finsih for the Davis Clan, as Shelby Davis took home the title with Brandon Mills 2nd and an excited and deservedly so, Lindsay McGrath finishing in the 3rd spot. Lindsay, the Grandaughter of Tim Chance did a heck of job out there and finished with a metal.

in the 500H, the veteran Dan Kirts, with a 2 cylinder Rossi, 440cc took home three heat wins for 1200 points and the win, with Ike Yoder and Tom Adkins finishing in the 3rd spot.

My thanks to Denise Eldrege and her band of merry makers and Todd Brinkman for a flawless run of the classes today. Tomorrow looks like a little cooler and a whole lot of action as we finish off Constantine and head for Depue for the Title Series Nationals next week.
