The July issue of the APBA Propeller magazine, Pro Nationals in Kingston Tenn. is very misleading. It states the Depue mens club is not hosting the Pro Nationals this year because of uncertanty of the water levels at Lake Depue, when in fact the Depue Mens club is hosting the U.S. Title Series Pro National Championships on July 24-28. The U.S. Title Series is the only real Pro racing series in the U.S. If you want to claim to be the best, then you need to beat the best, and you will only find that running against the Title Series drivers. See you in Depue where the best Pro National Champions will be crowned.

..........I think if I were President of the DePue Men's Club, I would be finding out who was responsible for this article, and who APBA supposedly talked to to gain this false and misleading information.
Since DePue and the Men's Club depend on this event every year, and have since the 60's at least to promote the town and other civic events that take place there, spreading false information like this could be construed as causing financial harm to the town and the club.
I would like to think this was a mistake or printed from ignorance or lack of knowledge, but I have seen so much other BS from APBA the last couple of years, it makes you wonder just how far they would go to "cut off their nose to spite their faces." If it was a mistake, then their credibility just took another hit and a retraction and apologies are in order, however much good that would do a month before the event.
Surprised NO, based on other events that have happened recently. Saddened that they would involve the Village of DePue in this way that could cause financial harm, **** RIGHT.
The person responsible should take responsibility and apologize to the Mens Club and the Village of DePue, and a retraction should be printed on their web site. Any body want to bet on how long that might take?? -

Venting on Hydroracer is all good but unless you go direct to the source and post your e-mail and their responses here on Hydroracer the chances of getting a answer are slim to none by just posting on Hydroracer..

By the way, I consider my previous post more providing information than "venting". Hopefully this one provided you some information also. I think most folks would consider "venting" as hopefully a way to convince someone to provide information that would prove helpful to others. I have seen little evidence that Mr. Wheeler or Mr. Weiner feel motivated that way about the subjects I and many others have asked about, whether here on HR or on the APBA site. It is all there for anyone to see, or not.Comment

The article refers to a letter sent to the PRO commission by the Men's Club that said they were not bidding on the APBA Nationals due to uncertain water levels.

Stop stirring up trouble where it does not exist. We all need to get along and just go racing no one club is better than anyone else. You don't represent the drivers when you spout this inaccurate crap.

See, this is where it gets confusing, correct me if I'm wrong, The U.S.T.S is no longer affiliated with A.P.B.A, so who cares what propellor magazine or it's people in charge have to say? The title series is doing just fine as their own entity, other clubs should take noteComment

Title Series and APBA
Todd Brinkman, President of the Title Series, and I are asking that we please leave the politics of the Title Series decision out of the mix, as it had no place in our discussions when we made our decision to leave APBA. We made a decision based on what was good business for the Title Series, plain and simple. We harbor no animosity toward any one person or any one entity. We simply looked at the business model and made a decision that we felt was best for us.
Some of us old fools are OLD enough to remember the NOA and APBA days, seems to me I saw a large number of the same folks at races sanctioned by both. We are boat racers at heart, the equipment is there, it is our choice to go run it or not. We welcome any and all comers to our Nationals at Depue at the end of July.
We have encouraged our Title Series members to go run races wherever they find them, APBA or Tilte Series. We wish nothing but the best to the APBA Nationals in Kingston and hope that the Title Series members do well there and those who choose to come run at the Title Series Nationals will carry on the great traditions of those who came before us at Depue.
When you are done at Kingston, may those who win championships there, come run with us at Depue to add on to a great year of racing with another championship.

I would ask you and Todd to speak to your member who started the threat and give him the same speach. Leave this stuff off the internet for all who have interest in the sport-only to read some of this crap-and lose that interest. We all love racing. Border Crossings
There were several APBA drivers at the NBRA race this past weekend at Lucas Oil Speedway.
I can also say there has been several NBRA members at APBA events at times too.
If the shoe fits, wear it.
I was talking with one very prominent APBA member last weekend, and I thanked that person for attending to support boat racing. Even though their luck was anything but good, we were boat racing. You have to look past the politics to see the great potential in developing something big. In the end we all race boats. The wood does not care if it is NOA/APBA/AOF/NBRA or any other sanctioning body.Dave Mason
