  • A Legend Passes

It is with a heavy heart that I give you the following news. We lost a great man yesterday afternoon. Marty Stahl, W-8, entered into eternal rest and is now racing in peace. His loving family was at his side. The outpouring of support from everyone has been much appreciated. He was a friend to many and a hero to me. He was the ultimate crewchief and supported both the boatracing team, as well as my brother's snowmobile racing team. Racing was in the family genetics and he helped fuel a burning passion in his sons. He much loved his extended family, the boat racing community, and truly appreciated all of their thoughts and prayers. Thank you to all for making his time these past few years so special. He touched many lives throughout his life. The legend lives on.

Arrangements to this point are as follows:
Funeral to be held at St. Timothy Ev. Lutheran Church, Menasha, WI
    Wednesday May 22nd
Visitation at the church from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Service will be held from 12-1 p.m.
Luncheon & celebration of his life shortly after to be held at The Stone Toad

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Chordoma Foundation, PO Box 2127, Durham, NC 27702; St. Timothy Ev. Lutheran Church; or a charity of your choice.
Speed costs money. So, how fast do you want to go?

I just sit with a sad heart and recall the many discussions I have had with Marty and the numerous memories I have since I met him over 40 years ago. Always a fierce racer, always a true gentleman. God speed, my friend, from my family
