Freddy. I guess what I m. Trying to say is our USTS show and competitors are better than ever and with less drivers. Not to say yesterday's drivers would be not as good it is a new and different time.

Just to add at present the usts rules do not allow radios In open boats. As far as eliimination heats this could lead to a longer show somethigg the usts would have problems with.

Ralph, I can tell you are living in the past, if you have kept up with the capsule boats of late, Sean McKean ran 130mph in a 500 capsule and almost that fast with the 700. Jerry Kirts was fast in Elmers 700, but I do not think he could run with todays capsules and certainly would not be as safe. It is a new era and speeds are up in all Pro classes.

I agree that Shawn is fast but those are straightaway-kilo style speeds, what about the competition speeds , around pin to pin average. Never said that the capsules were not fast or safe , just talking in general about the show for the spectators who come to see the races. The show is what promotes the races. All this started because someone said something about the step-up rule. My point was to try to keep the spectators attention, or you suffer a slow death as other organizations have in the past...

Well if ya have a show in a location that has more turtles than people welllll

Spectators for the most part do not pay to watch a race---hummmmm what do we do. Plenty of us myself included have many ideas and we always say everything has been tried< But by who, noone who knows how thats who.

Selling boatracing by boatracers just has and will not work-- boatracers only know how to make boats go fast..
case in point the techinical division of IBM only knows how to make business machines not how to sell them there is a division within IBM that sells and maketts there machines plain and simple...
I do not think boatracing has ever had a professional sales force try and sell
our product--plain as that. So the way we do it now when thinking we need a good show for the turtles is foolishness.

We have something to sell just no pro's to do it--trust me when Nascar was in this position SALES PRO'S did not get paid to sell Nascar but went and did it and shared with Nascar and the Race teams after it worked.
