1100 runanbout kicked off the last day off the last day of 2012's APBA Nationals.

Mike Thirlby and his fiance Julia Baker won't all 3 heats for the win. Julia said it exciting, but marriage next week moreso. This class has a driver and rider with speeds of 100 mph plus.

The next class up, 250 hydro provided best racr of the weekend with two Floridians tied up going to the final. Chris Hellsten starting in the back of the pack caught Ben Thompson right at the finish line for the win.

Dom Defebo took a win, eventhough tied on poimts, Dom took less time than Buddy Tennell for the win.

125 hydro brought a sister and brother to the win column as Kristi Ellison, sister to Hellsten took home her first title in 24 yrs of racing.

350 runabout had Tim Small finishing out front in the three heatd for a perfect win.

Amy Nydahl had a perfect ending to this Nationals, drvinh the Thirlby Automotive entry,

Amy won the Top Hydro championdhip and the 3,500 dollar prize from Galleta-aerorstor.com sponsor. Amy won 700 hydro 20 yrs to the day that her Dad had won it.

The Depue Men's Club and the city of Depue hosted the largest three day crowd ever seen at this event. The city had gone all out to build a dam to allow racing led by Mayor Eric Bryant.

Spectated Sat & Sun. Best drives Amy Nydahl in the big hydro`s Tim Small In the big Run. Amy had some bad luck in some other Hydro classes that could have been winners. Wow what A impressive young driver. Congrats to the Helstens. A brother and sister winning. I don`t think that has ever been done before.

        Art:

Seconds to your post regards the PRO Nationals. Some of the tightest racing in many years, and 250 Hydro was especially exciting.

        Regards Amy Nydahl:

I am not usually short for words, but this young LADY is absolutely amazing!!

If the Champ Boat Tour was still alive, and I was an advertiser looking to promote a product via Boat Racing, there would be no doubt she would be the one whose door I would be beating down. Not only because she is a beautiful girl who could represent any company or product in the best way possible, or that she is a girl competing against men. She is just simply one of the best DRIVERS I have ever seen in my 50+ years of racing and spectating, and that list I have seen is very long and talented.

I think any man who thinks they might have an easier time against her than the current crop of PRO Drivers needs to think twice, and I am sure there is not any doubt now about that after the last two weekends, if there ever was.

A little confusing !! So who won the 250 Hydro, Hellsten or DeFebo ??

While the NASCAR guys make such a big deal about Danica who has not done all that much, the boating guys really don't make a big deal about Amy. She is accepted as a regular driver who is very talented and has had good equipment. The fact that she is female is generally not an issue one way or the other- she is simply a great driver who expects no breaks because she is female and gives none as well. It really is fun to watch her. She wouldn't coast the third heat of Top Hydro when she already had the race easily won. The turn with Hall showed she knows how to corner and can do it!

                  World Championship results

It would appear that the official results for the World O.175 Championship are incorrect as 2nd position points were not awarded in heat 3. The two disqualifications in this heat may have confused the situation.

Therefore Attila Hencz should have received a further 75 points - however this does not effect the podium positions.

                    O175

                    Mike,
My meaning was that Renne won in three heats, the 4th heat put Nydahl and Henzc on the podium, nothing more than that.

We had the podium covered in our pit area!
Congratulations to David, Will and Tim.

The results I am referring to is the official version published by the UIM on their web site.

An identical version can be found at: http://www.motorbootrennsport.de/eng...012&race=depue
