Day two of the 2012 started with the 4th heat of 175 hydro to determine the 2nd and 3rd place in the final results. Rene Benche of Germany had won the first 3 heats and was declared the World Champion yesterday and the fight was on for the other two podium finishes. Amy Nydahl took the lead coming off the beach and was never headed as Attila Henze from Hungray finishing 2nd. With that Amy finished 2nd overall and Henze finishing for the 3rd in the podium finish.

The Nationals then came up with JJ Walls of Danville, In finished out front in the C Racing Runabout Class and took home his 2nd championship home of the weekend with Dwight Malhoit of Bremerton, Wa and Jack Campbell finishing 3rd.

Buddy Tennell was one of the fortunate drivers to defend his 250 R 2011 championship as he won a couple of heats and finished 3rd in one. Rich Krier finished 2nd and JP Jedwabny finished 3rd.

350 Hydro was the wildest event I have seen in terms of hard racing in many years. Zach Malhoit of Washington took the title with a point total of 850 out of a possible 1200 for the win. David Mitchell, the defending champ finished second with 527 and Dan Kirts with 469. One heat had to be re-run as there were so many gun jumpers they could not get them all and when we did Michael W. Schmidt who had won one heat almost collided with Chris Hellsten and missed the first turn and shut it off.

C Service Hydro saw a real upset as Jim Nilsen of Washington had won the first two heat and was leading for the 3rd heat only to have been disqualified for changing lanes at the start, giving a 3rd Championship of the weekend to JJ Walls.

175 Hydro was really exciting as 3 boats were the only legal boats for both the 2nd and 3rd heats as all others jumped the gun. A rookie Jon Wienandt of Wisconsin took home the victory with two old and do I mean old grizzly veterans finished 2nd and 3rd. Marshall Eldredge 83 and John Maddrell not too far behind in age finished on the podium as well.

Tim Small wins with a 2 cylinder Rossi for the first time as all others using 4 cylinders. Tim won two heats and finished 3rd in the last heat, staying away from the starting line as to not jump the gun. Brian Payn won the 3rd heat and finished 2nd and RC Hawie of Fla. For the 3rd spot.
