  • Winona 1st day results

Cannot explain what it means to get up early and get ready for a boat race, then go oops, we do not race until 5:30pm, yes, that is right 5:30. Oh to be in the northland and have daylight until 9:30.

Enough of that, we ran off 4 classes safely tonight and will finish it off tomorrow.

First up was top Hydro, with Doug Hall running off and hiding and hiding w/back to back heat wins. Though 2nd heat a sight to behold as Amy Nydahl stealing the start in the second heat as Amy had finished 4th in the first heat Doug tucked into 2nd, knew he was in the winning position, only to have Amy's motor stumble and Doug was never headed.

Rick Saver driving an absolute aggressive, but a steady couple of heats finished second with a 2nd and 3rd place heat finish. Sean McKean had burned thru a couple of bullets in testing, found himself third overall. Mark gryskewicz
Was very competitive and finished with a third, but no finish in the first heat, while Brianna Johnson finished a steady 4th overall.

Perfect 3 heat wins, 3 race victories, Winterhaven, Menominee, now Winona for Amy Nydahl, congrats to her and the wrench, her Dad Pete, and number 1 fan, Mom Kelly. Brennan Burkland driving a great race finished second, with a nice move for Ben Thompson to finish 3rd. JP Jedwabny thrashing with issues in all heats finally cleaned it out and finished a good 3rd heat.

Well you have heard the term, mixed up like cement, here it was in living flesh
The first heat, Mike Krier and JaredGryskiejwicz, finished 1-2 in the first heat, only to be tossed out for gun jumping. That gave the heat win to Rich and he lead going to 3rd heat and only to have to have Brian Payn behind him for 3rd heat, nope, he jumped the gun in the 3rd heat and Brian picked up the win with brothers Mike 2nd and Rich finishing 3rd

Well I would like to know how many of you have or know someone who won the first race in the first race they have run, well Parker Thirlby has picked up the mantle that Grandpa Ed, dad Mike, Uncle Eddie, and cousin Brandonh
Have laid down, as Parker received the traditional dunking with the first win.
Zach Davis finished with two heat wins, Jake Quesse two second, but neither could help themselves much after jumping the gun in the first heat. Way to go Parker!
