Ka-Boom....
after a hot shower and a good night sleep we have trouble this morning on hwy 29 south of st joseph, missouri. loud bang from under the hood (like the sound if a a blown tire) and lost all power over 35mph. lucky to be (1) exit from a ford dealer in platte cty, mo.
guys at thoroughbred ford are dirt track racers and after finding out we need to be in florida tomorow jumped right on lee's truck. they think it's just a supply hose not the turbo. we are waiting on a parts run but they say we should be rolling sometime after lunch.
small world. a salesman just walked over to us and asked if we knew doug hall?Bill Dingman "The road to hell is paved with good intentions."

Let me guess?
Hose between the turbo and the intercooler pipe right?
Mine has blown off three times total. First time was on the way to Depue pulling up and out of Idaho. That time it actually broke the clamp. Blew off two more times after that over the next couple of years. I finally decided to replace it with the new spare that I had been carrying. When I was replacing it, I noticed it was installed the wrong way by the dealer who had done some warranty work. Put the new hose back on right and it hasn't blown off since. Knock on wood. Although it is a known problem. I carry a spare with me now everytime I leave my zipcode

Tow rigs
It's sorta cool to hear all the stories from people about the different tow rigs they have used in the past and in the present....like most racers I have worn out several trucks towing my 5th place DSH all over the country..lol...when I was looking for a new rig a year and a half ago I looked at Ford, Chevy, and Dodge diesels, as well as full size Ford F 150's with both the 4.6 V8 and the 5.4 V8....and ended up buying a 2005 F150 long bed with a 4.2 V6.....I was blown away by how much power the thing has and how quiet it is, as well as how low-tech the engine is...you can have the plugs out of the thing in 20 minutes etc....anyway....I hope the Tietze caravan goes ok......
