In preparing the sanction application we have the option of a beach dead engine start, or a clock start. In the past UIM races in the USA, we have opted for a beach start, which have received comments pro and con. I am seeking opinions on which is preferred for this race at Depue in conjunction with the Nationals.

Beach
As the WC can have either types of starts and Depue will have plenty of help launching--consider safety, and talk to the USTS as they are the conducting club also talk to the Referee---We do not race this class and probably never will.
But I for one think beach starts at depue are unsafe. Anyway lets see if the Europeans are breve enough to come play our way in our pond(I'm betting not)

If we are to play by the UIM rules, then do it. They UIM uses "beach" starts and that is the way it should be done or don't apply for a World Championship. Seems we are always changing rules for some reason, example OSY, UIM rules and APBA rules are different, why?. It should all be the same. Hope it is a real World Championship and not a combination of our 125's and 175's. Another note, any one from another country can enter our Nationals and use the clock start...Just my oponion.....BobLast edited by Bob Rusnak; 02-24-2012, 07:29 AM.
