Mark, Sometimes they are jetty, sometimes they are clock. Watch the sanction notices. It seems that if there is a World's coming close then they are jetty for practice. You might try giving an officer an email to see what is planned. Tim Small is a good one to ask. You can IM him from this site.
I am not referreeing anymore as I retired, so I don't have the inside scoop. Nic Thompson, can you help?

175 Hydro

All 175 Hydro USTS races are clock starts. With the WORLDS this year in Depue, if the drivers wanted jetty starts they would have to ask the BOD for approval before the sanction is in. Otherwise it is not fair if everyone doesnt know bout it. Hope this helps.

The starts for Pro USTS in 2012 are Clock starts--as voted by the BOD.

The Pro Commission determined that the type of start in bore and stroke classes shall be up to the Race Directors and be posted on sanctions.

Any worlds held at Depue Natl's can and I believe will use Jetty starts.
I would have to confer with other commissioners but I think I got it right.

Tim the drivers would have to ask the Pro Commission about Depue Nationals and like I said I think 175 Worlds at Depue will be Jetty starts--

Pat, I was referring to USTS races using only clock starts unless they got BOD approval for jetty before sanction. Depue 175 Worlds will be jetty or you can forget about the europeans coming.
