I hope that all of our racing families are safe and sound up and down the east coast. Our prayers are with you as you try to recover from this catastrophic event.
How are conditions in the Hartford area? Is the Title Series race still planned to go on or is it still too early to tell? We are planning to leave early Thursday morning at this point. Please let us know anything you can as soon as anyone is able.

    Thank you,

    Jim

The Riverfront US Title Series Powerboat Race scheduled for September 3, 4, and 5, 2011 has been cancelled due to river flooding. River levels are currently cresting and are not expected to recede below flood levels by the weekend. (Northeast River Forecast Center: http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=box&gage=hfdc3&view=1,1,1,1,1,1 ,1,1&toggles=10,7,8,2,9,15,6&type=0 ). As you can see in the photo below, there is large debris floating down the river making it unsafe for boating. When the flood waters eventually recede, we expect to find extensive damage, debris, and river silt that will make the parks unsafe for public use. Additionally the docks in Great River Park broke free yesterday and have been lost to the flood.
Thanks to everyone who devoted time and effort to plan this event. The US Title Series Powerboat Race is a great competition, and we are very disappointed by this cancellation. We are hopeful that our friends from US Title Series will return in 2012.
      Please feel free to forward

Was able to see the CT river yesterday, All I can say is WOW is the river high. Were the time clock was last year is under water by 10 feet or more and the water is about 5 feet from touching the over pass that was at the end of turn 1.
Definitly a bummer, I waited all year for this race
Good luck to all out in Oklahoma!!!!

Just a shame but we have no control of the weather. Just too bad Sean McKean already arrived with his big rig from Texas. He will stay with us until Sunday morning and then head back to Texas. What a wasted trip for them. With no power, we drank a lot of beer for two days. We were with out power since Sunday morning. It was not the worst storm we had in the North East but a lot of flooding damage do to the ocean surges. Lots of downed trees that took power lines down. From what I was told New Hampshire took a big hit and that is what caused the flooding in Hartford. Everyone is safe and there will be another race......Bob N-96
