    CRH
George Thornhill scored 1000 points for the win in CRH as in the first heat two top competitors ended up jumping the gun with JJ Walls and Jim Nilsen digging big holes for themselves. JJ clearly had good speed, but the steady Thornhill did what he needed to do to take it home with George taking one heat with JJ and Jim taking one each as well. Unfortunatley for Keely Malhoit she dumped in this class, only to take another adventure in OSY 400 later in the day.

    Jim Nilsen 625

175H was a real mix of misteps with GJ and any number of heat winners. Buddy Tennell came out like gang busters and won the first heat going away, only to suffer a catastrophic failure coming out for heat two, which left him on the beach for the duration of the class. Amy Nydahl won a heat along with Brian Palmquist winning one. Amy in a heat spun in the first turn and ended up that one heat short of the win. Brian ended up with 2 fourths to go with his heat win. Not quite enough though as the defending Champ, Ralph Donald was the steady Eddie, with two seconds and fourth to take home the title once again, at a very tender age indeed. Loves whipping those youngsters.

    Brian Palmquist 738
    Amy Nydahl 625

OSY 400 should be renamed OMY OMY as we ran at least a portion of 6 heats, with so many accidents and gun jumpers in one of the heats that it had to be called. John Peeters may have repeated but in an interview with him he commented that this was the toughest of the 4 peat he is into to. John ended up flipping in the first turn, just after a black flag, due to the judges stand unable to get all of the gun jumpers hidden in roostertails at the start. After a quick check by the safety crew, John was seen running at full speed back to his pits. As he said 15 people were already working over the boat and engine to try to get him back on the water in what turned out to be about 10 minutes to get him back on the water. In the end, he and Amy were tied on points and John won by .18 of a second over 3 heats. The real story? Kelly Nydahl, Amy' Mom was the timer for OSY 400. Michael Schmidt put together 3 good finishes to end up 3rd.

CSR no, not that CSR, but the ones with Johnrudes in it.
Jim Nilsen took the title once again as he had his two top competitors being able to finish only two heats. Jim was strong all day and finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, to cover the field. JJ Walls and Tim Weber took the other two heat wins, but only two heats worth of points.

Will Augustine was the only legal boat in heat one and used that to parlay an overall win to take home the tiltle. In the 3rd heat Will was very careful to not jump the gun, but had to work thru the field to secure enough points to secure the champtionship. An August effort by the Augustine family, matching Dad Gary's 500H win a number of years ago here in Depue. BTW, Will took the traditional bath after his first win, just as Dad did with his. Colin Rucker took the other two heats to try and salve the loss of the championship from last year. Peter Crowley driving a brand new boat that Dad, Peter finished on the beach during the week, prior to the runup of the race.

125R in first heat had two legal boats, Andrew Thirlby and Erin Barth and that worked real well for both of them. Paulie Bosnich and Dom Difebo traded 1st and 2nd in the last two heats, but Andrew parlayed the heat win for overall

    Andrew 738
    Dom 700 on time
    Paulie 700

500H had David Hooten dominate the first heat to fall to the gremlins in the
    2nd and 3rd.

Mark Gryskkiewicz won the second heat over Sean Mckean and Jim Wright, but Sean knew what needed to be done as he took the third heat and repeated as 500H champ. Doug Hall just could not get the motor to clean out and he ended up with a second in the first heat and unable to get points in the 2nd and 3rd heat.

    Sean 925
    Jim 577
    Mark 569

As you can see one or another might have dominated in today's racing, but no one took all three heats, as GJ or not able to finish kept the fans on edge as to who was going to take a title home with them.

My thanks to Sue Sailer and her crew for a great effort and keeping the program going was Todd Brinkman and Big Pal, Paul Bosnich in the pits.

Again Pat Gleason will have live streaming for Saturday, and our thanks to Grant Bosnich and Shirley Summers for manning the camera and the live computer chat. UStream.tv is the address and our thanks to Pat.
