Favorite Thing about coming to DePue

The Ranch house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no actually the corn dogs and lemonade my first trip was in 1974 and 2 years ago still the same.... plus the taco/enchilada stand near the ramp rocks!!

It wasn't a hummingbird

for whoever was at the icecream stand when the striped hummingbird showed up this was actually a Snowberry clearwing hummingbird moth. More than you really wanted know.

Depue

There are so many things about Depue that I looked forward to each year that it would be way to long to list.
So will keep it short. For years I heard about the US Taco's and they were as good as I was told they were. Also the town people waving to you as you rolled into town was always a warm welcome and they treated you like family.
Last the entire atmosphere with all the activities with the carnival and seeing all your friends again.

Favorite Thing

The first time we rolled into DePue I saw the picture of the Pro Runabout on the Welcome to DePue sign. I knew we were in for a real treat from that point on. Whenever I make it back it is like you know you are in good hands as soon as you see that welcome sign.

After eating ice cream at the ice cream shop a few weeks ago during the stock race we learned that you can bring in a 8x10 racing photo of anyone you want and add it to the wall of racing photos they have. Pretty cool little room full of racing shots. Anyone who wants to be on the wall should show up with a 8x10 and donate it to the collection.

Eliminating Wardrobe Malfunctions

Getting a ferris wheel pizza from Spring Valley that my team can't even finish! Knowing the town as my second home and most every restaurant around.

Its great to see guys roll into the park on sunday nite, and just happen to know that the beer is cold in the food stand. Its about the great people I have met. How u won't find a group like the US Title Series officials , racers and family's. I just want to say THANK YOU. See u guys in a week.

I can tell you that the racers, officials and familes are on the other side of the comments you have made. It is about the friends we have made in Depue over the years. Of course it is a homecoming to me, but I can tell you, that all, in the circus called boat racing, feel the same about the greatness of the effort that the city, the fans, and of course the Men's Club and their volunteers make in our behalf. Truly a lovefest.

Ray, i have been a part of the mens club since June of 1990. It was a dream of mine to join this great group of guys, now i'm a director and its a great feeling. i will say this, i feel that we give the guys the site to race but u guys put on the greatest show on water. To all of u guys , thanks for all u do. Be safe in your travels, see u guys for the 150 birthday of the town with a great history and a boat racing addiction.
