Thanks Josh, Us ole codgers are not that good without the tin cans and string.

55 entries in the six classes run today brought a great day of racing, while being hard to believe that we were able to get them off. This morning broke with another storm following a most of the night downpour and lightening show. As the day wore on the clearer it became with a pretty stiff breeze blowing out of the West, but doing no damage to the race course in terms of tearing up the water.

A safe day was had, which is always the best. Just one incident, although scary, as Jim Kirts was tossed from his 500R on the back stretch, as the boat came up, back down quickly, but a little crooked and out Jim went. The boat continued to coast about 150' from Jim and he was pretty open to the drivers following behind, two boats split him, but in the end all was well.

The first class of the day was 250R. Out of the 11 that started only 2 drivers were able to complete all three heats and lo and behold they ended up tied on points, as each had a 1st, 2nd, and a 3rd. Tim Small and Rich Krier were all about finishing and Rich by 4.4 seconds finished out front.

Up next was 350H. For the final heat 4 of the 10 we started with ended up finishing the final heat. Attrition was huge here as the normally good to go Gary Buskirk, David Mitchell, and Chris Hellesten, all had major problems and were unable to run the 3 heats. Chris won the first heat, but the twisted sister, or crank or something was twisted anyway in the middle of the second heat, put him on the beach.
Mark Stahl finished with a 1st and 2 2nd's to take home the title. Zach Malhoit from the Seattle area was running good, but got trapped in the back in a couple of starts and had to work hard to finish with second overall. Like the 250R class, they were the only two boats to finish all 3 heats.
It was great to see David Weaver back on the water again and he finished in the 3rd spot overall.

    500R
This is one heck of a competitve class and a lot of banging and beating took place as some of the fastest 500's in the cournty took to smooth and fast water.

Jared Gryskiewicz 500R 2009 champ could not buy a break and did not finish a heat. Tom Kirts who was super fast in the Steve Littzel St. Anne flag boat ended up winning on the water, but not on the judges stand as he JG in two of the 3 heats, but was very fast. Brian Payn driving the Wright entry N611 won the third heat in convinsing fashion and put himself in the spotlight for next week at Depue.

The steady driving of Greg Keller of Flint, Mi, proved the winning formula, as he took home the win. Great job Greg!!!!

Next up was K-Pro or should I say the Wendy Eldredge show, AGAIN!!!! What a great season Wendy has had as she has done something we all could wish for. She has won every heat run in K-Pro this year except for one heat. She and Kurt Nydahl fought it out in all three heats, but Wendy came out on top in all three heats. Hard to get any better than that. Shelby Davis ended up with a couple of thirds and a fourth to finish on the podium.
But, a shout out to Vincent Buskirk who finished fourth overall as it was so exciting to see Vincent getting better and better with each race he runs, and today was the best I have seen. Congrats Vincent.

125H was up next as 12 of them headed to the water in the first heat. An early approach to the line cost Amy Nydahl a shot at the win, as she had to back off as she approached the start and it loaded up and it took her a couple of laps to unload the motor as she finished 6th. In the meantime, let it not be said that Kevin Ellison is not a capable savvy driver. He hit the start perfectly and never looked back in the first heat and ran well in all three heats. Brendon Vishoot finished 2nd it the first heat and set him for a podium finish, nice job Brendon.

Attrition again took it's toll here in 125 as about 5 drivers did not receive points at all. Amy went on to win the last two heats, with Kevin in the second spot to take the ovreall win and a great job by him.

500H was up next with 6 entries, and the facts did not change from the first two races of 500H this year as everybody chased Ike Yoder to the finish line. Ike won two heats and finished 2nd in the other to take the overall win.

A shout out to Brandon Thirlby who had a problem pulling the pipes and was not totally competitive, but started the third heat to allow Ike and Sean to get to the third heat as Mark Gryskiewicz and Jim Wright had problems. Brandon took to the water, completed the start and then pulled off so that Sean and Ike could get a run.

At the end, Ike was standing at the top of the podium as he has for the other two races won this year. Congrats, Ike, he is one of the most likeable guys you will ever run into.

Tomorrow looks like a great day weather wise so hopefully we are able to have a good race day and then off to Depue for the Nationals
