  • Usts 2010 schedule

The US TITLE SERIES opens the season in OCOEE Florida on April 16-17-18, 2010. OCOEE is the first of three new sites the USTS will visit during the 2010 tour. The month of MAY takes us to PLEASANT PRAIRIE Wisconsin, another new venue just north of Chicago. The USTS returns to beautiful WINONA Minnesota in June, followed by our annual trek to Constantine Michigan in July. The following week is spent in Depue Illinois for the PRO NATIONALS. Labor Day Weekend finds us at another new site in HARTFORD CT. The city of HARTFORD is very excited about this event, and hopefully it will become a perminent stop on the USTS tour in the future. We close out the 2010 season in Raleigh N.C. in October. Below is a list of the sites and dates. See you there.

    Ocoee Florida - April 16-17-18
Pleasant Prairie Wis. - May 28-29-30
    Winona Minn. - June 17-18-19
    Constantine Michigan-July 23-24-25
    Pro Nationals-Depue-July 29-30-31- Aug. 1
    Hartford Ct. - Sept. 3-4-5
    Raleigh N.C.- Oct. - 8-9-10

    Pleasant Prairie

    Tim,

You have JUMPED The Gun on Pleasant Prairie!!!

BSOA has site protection per the Region 7 By Laws. The USTS has to go through BSOA to get permission to run an event there. This has yet to be approved by the members of BSOA or the Region 7 Board of Directors.
Please remove the Pleasant Prairie event until the proper documents have been approved, if they are approved.

Clubs in Region 7 have been biten in the passed from other Categories and Clubs stealing race site(s) that have been developed by the original Club/Category. Thats why there is a Clause in the R7 By Laws.

    IX. Sanctions
    5. Existing race sites, sponsors and/or dates will be protected from infringement by any other A.P.B.A. Club for the following calendar year from the date of the last regatta held at that location. The only exception shall be when the sponsoring clubs, the involved Region Category Chairman and the Region Chairman are in complete written agreement.

Until then, there is no USTS event at Pleasant Prairie.

I have drawn up a document for this but has yet to be approved/if it gets approved.

Just remember what BSOA did for the PRO category by hosting the Eastern PRO Divisionals last year!!

Sounds as if BSOA needs to get their "contract" approved by the region 7 & BSOA powers to be & then signed buy the Title Series powers to ensure the site is protected in the future. That way if BSOA decides to dump the 18" deep mud pit they have a site for Memorial weekend.

You mention "if it gets approved" why wouldn't it?

Isn't BSOA already committed to Burlington that weekend?

I don`t see what the big deal is about sharing a site. They hold the stock/mod divisionals in depue and it`s a pro site.Constantine michigan is the same way. They hold two different division races there. The title series does`nt want to steal a site , just want a place to race.

Not wishing to make waves, but Mr. Hearn back a few years told me that
any protectionism of race sites goes against U.S. anti trust laws---
maybe I just backed off on trying to get APBA to protect sites because the leadership at the time was conserned about anti trust laws.
