German racer testing waters of Lake DePue - bcrnews.com

DEPUE — For the past 25 years, racers from the four corners of the country have congregated early each August in DePue for the APBA National Championship boat races, looking to fill their need for speed on Lake DePue. This year, one racer came from even further.
Twenty-two-year-old Yvonne Koenig made the trip to DePue all the way across the Atlantic from Dredsen, Germany, to race in the 700 and 1100cc hydroplane classes. She was accompanied with her friend and countrymate, Christian Langer, who is filming a documentary on her experience in the United States.Koenig, who has raced in Germany, Austria and Italy.
