Please take moment to thank your race officials. Most are volunteers who unselfishly give their time, so that the show may go on. It is too easy to take these fine individuals for granted.
If you have complained about the running of a race recently, ask yourself when you last stepped-up to volunteer towards the conduct of a race. If you have stepped-up, you will remember that the job was important and the pay was lousy!! But, a well timed thank you made it worth it.
Racing the USTS, I am very appreciative of our scorers, timers, race directors,referees, safety personel, turn judges etc. I know most of the clubs throughout APBA are blessed to have similarly commited individuals.
Sitting on the judges stand under stressful conditions for hours on-end is not all fun, it turns out. Thanks to all the scorers that strain to determine the gun jumpers and the final finishing order when the action is fast and furious. We would be lost without you!!!
To all clubs, please strive to provide the best equipment that you can afford to your judges' stand!!
Thanks again to all the officials and volunteers that made 2008 a great season for the USTS and stepped-up to run a fantastic World Championships. The hours were countless and the appreciation needs to be as much.

P.S. - Are you sure that I jumped the gun in the first heat of the Nationals this year? Really, really sure because I thought that I might have been legal.....
