  • First Rossi 2 cyl 500cc

The first Rossi 2 cyl 500 made its debut in Dayton. It sounds like it ran very well w/ Tim Small finishing w/ a first and a second. Add another contender to the 500 runabout at the Worlds. Looks like I might have to get a runabout for next year.

He did run well Doug. Looks like I will have to get a little more time in my new boat to get use to what it is going to do. I wished I would have gotten better starts so I could have given him a good run. On the other hand, it was rougher than heck! It was fun either way. Don't count the OL' Konig out though. You know us Kirts boys, we don't like to finish 2nd. LOL. See ya soon my friend.

I feel a lot better now, I thought Tim stepped up with a 350 and took a second with all the 500's. There was a good field of 500 Runabouts even though the total field of boats was down, I think 8 entered and all 8 finished Yes it was very rough and the 2 cylinder 500 looked real strong. What's is next, add two more cylinders and we have a 1000 cc engine for the Worlds?...Bob Rusnak.....N-96

I did hear that it was very rough. I am not counting anybody out, just throwing in another name for a World title.

Is it a full 500cc motor? Or is it like when Konig first made their 2-cyl C where it was a 25" bored out B, then upgraded to 27", then to a full 30"?

            500 twin cylinder GRM

            Tim
It is not a full 500, but after its maiden race, I will be working on it to make it bigger. We had to see if it was practical first.
