  • Dayton USTS Season Final

    Friday-
A few more trailers rolled in today, to make for a decent turn out. Today was spent testing and getting everything set up for tomorrow and Sunday. It was either raining or cloudy most of the day. Racing starting tomorrow around noon or one. Although some of the USTS High Points for each class have aready been decided, there are many that depend on this weeken'd race. Such as 125 R, and 125 H, 250 H, K Pro, and I'm sure there are a couple more still to be decided on this weekend.

They are on wind hold and moving the coarse to the other end of the lake to try and race. Paul Bosnich blew his 125h over backwards testing this morning. He has a sore shoulder but is OK.

        Paulie

Hey guys... We just got back to the hotel from the hospital.
Paulie is in a lot of pain, but doing well. They have told us that he more than likely bruised the bones around his collar bone and shoulder. Nothing broken.... Thanks for your thoughts...

He did say that his neck restraint kept his neck from going, he could feel it holding his neck steady!!!! Just an FYI.....
        We will keep you posted

Thanks for the update. Did Paulie get as many style points as Lauren did in Winona?

He got enough hang time that I had enough time to turn around and see him land after everyone started oohing and ahhing

Good thing I have a 5 gal. tank in the 250, AJ kept ignoring us when he went by the pits, we have in the 125 this weekend also but I think we spoiled that ride for him because we had him run the 250 first

I always thought growing up would be cool, I was wrong!
The other day GG laughed at me because I take more pills a day than she does....

No racing today, wind straight down the backstretch attesting to Paulie Bosnich's blowover in 125h. Got really airborne boat came over with Paulie still in it and hit the water then snapped rolled over to right side up.

Thanks to all the USTS officials, in particular, Kristi our President and Tim Small for trying to re-set the course more times then I thought it could be done.

                        Dayton Sunday

well we went off at about 9:30am and got everything in except one heat of 350R and no 125R heats, with two heats and 3 laps.

No results were given as to the issues we ran into all day with the wind. We all owe Tim Small, Fred Mason, Kristi Ellison and the whole USTS crew a great big thank you for all the work put into this weekend.

We had wind of 40mph with gusts to 60mph while trying to put everything away. My thanks to all the volunteers who stayed afterward to load up the gear and Kristi's trailer to get her on her way.

Thanks to Bill Tetro, Bob Yoder, and RC Hawie who brought tow boats with them.

Everyone was safe and that is what counts.

                        Just for grins:
                        250/350H combined==Brandon Thirlby both heats
                        500H Brandon
125H David Jones one heat/Kevin Ellison the other winner????
                        500R RC Hawie
Cannot tell you the rest. I am sure that David Weaver will give us the full rundown.

                          style points

                          Joe...
I didnt see it. I was making a sandwhich with Ricky Jed. We both turned around and saw the red flag being thrown and I said well we better go help bring Paulie up with Dad and then we realized he was in the water.
When we were in the ER though, Dad, Paulie and I were waiting for the Dr. to come back after Xrays and Paulie said to dad... Did it at least look good? Everyone said it was a good height off the water... It was probably better I didnt see it... You know me the protective sister...
We did go to the Steak and Lube and talked about how much we missed you, Teri, Lauren, and Ellen... Just wasnt the same... Hope everything is going well....

Paulie just called and said he's back in Orlando and he is sore from the flight
He will be sore for a couple of day's.
                              Its a real bad bruse
On the hang time part he was up the for a while he just about rode it out but he just didn't hang on. His landing was a good one
The first thing he said when he got to shore was the neck retrains work and then his shoulder hurt like heck.
Thanks for all the phone calls and post on the net
