  • OSY 400 as a USTS class?

What are people's thoughts on making OSY 400 a U.S. Title Series Class? In Europe OSY is part of the Italian and Euro series (the equivielent of the usts pro races). The class is already well established, plus it will bring the number of boats at each title series race up. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing it put on the USTS list of classes. Thoughts?

        Ryan:

The Title Series has a format that is able to be sold to a potential sponsor. A big part of that is having a schedule that does not run from 9am to 5 pm, it is able to be sold because it is basically a 4 hour show.

Also, OSY has been added a few times over the years. The turnout has shown that there is not enough interest to merit it being added full time.

          I don't think 3 175's are all that exciting.

            Ryan,

We discuss class proposals at the annual meeting. It will be held in Chicago on November 8th. Details are in the last edition of the PROMOTION.

Better make sure you have a boat before you start thinking of going to their races.

Mr. Weaver, Thank you. I'm just curious about how the rest of the racing world feels about the issue, mainly the stockers since they are the racers who would have the equipment to run OSY. If 175 can be ran at a usts race, I am simply wondering why OSY can't be ran also?

While the input of the rest of the world is always a blast here on HR.com, please understand that the decisions of the USTS board are not made here, but rather in Chicago at the annual meeting. I encourage you to attend. I encourage all USTS members to attend and provide their input at the meeting (or alternatively, contact the USTS Board Members).

Historically, the USTS Board has oriented its decisions based upon the input of its membership and the considerations of its BOD. Therefore, I do not forsee the USTS BOD entering into a debate in this public forum as to its class structure. The USTS is a members club and does not attempt to represent all interests of the PRO Racing category.
