It is great to hear the positive progress! Please continue to keep us posted.
Hang in there Nic, we'll keep you in our prayers.

Nic is still doing well, but we just found out that he has to remain in bed and immobile for another 7 days. It'll be Monday or Tuesday before they'll let him out of bed and then another day or so until they let him go home. The doctor wants to make certain that the spinal drain is completely healed.

Needless to say, he's not real happy about it. All things considered he's handling it pretty well. He's not ready for visitors just yet, but I'll let you know when he's up to it.

Tell him I said Hi and to give me a call whenever he is up to it. Hope to see him in DePue but don't push it. The nationals are much more important; I need him in my canoe!

          Tony:

Nic says you need a hood ornament again, do you! If there's beer in your canoe, you know he will be there!

Nothing new to report this morning. Nic does say he's going to be there for the Memorial Day Race. I'm sure if the doctor lets him, he'll be there!

Just thought you all would like to know that Nic is in rare form right now. He just told me that he'd love to have an ice cold......Gator Aide!!! I'd bet good money on everyone expecting him to say a Bud Light!

The Payn's send our love and wishes for a speedy recovery. We will have a few Bud Lights ready for him at DePue if he can make it, and if not, we'll save them for the next race. If he gets out of line, just threaten to tickle his feet. Brian, Terry, Connie and the rest

                    Longhorn

Not to mention Longhorn sales have mysteriously plummetted and their stock value has gone way down.
Speed costs money. So, how fast do you want to go?

If Nic says he's going to be and the Memorial Day race in DePue, I better get his room ready. And the wagon also for the ride home.
Like Jp said the ebay sales are down and the Bud Light stock also. When he gets access to both of them look out.
                        Get well buddy

I'm home today to conserve my days off from work for when Nic gets out of the hospital. I just spoke with his Aunt Kristy who was with him today and she said that he is doing great!!

Tuesday afternoon before I left, they moved him into his own private room in ICU. Before that he was in a very noisy ICU unit that separated the patients with a curtain. He was exhausted because he wasn't able to sleep and EXTREMELY grumpy!

Nic told Kristy that he slept really well the past two nights and frequently during the day and he feels MUCH better now! Dr. Freeman also feels like his right leg and hand are getting stronger and Nic reports that he thinks his left hand is not as numb!

On Monday, they plan to remove the drain, let him out of bed and start him on liquids!! Things are really starting to look up.

Kristy is checking with Nic tomorrow to see if he's ready for visitors. I'll let you know when I hear from her.

Thanks for all the posts. Nic enjoys reading them!
