Wow Fred that thing is very cool. I use those same carbs on my 45 omc.

I am never sure what it is you are asking, but this RS has had the top exhaust bridge cut out of #1 and #3, but left intact on #2. I understood the bridges cracked in severe service, , would then break rings, and therefore had to be removed.

I had one and it had big and little ports but I don't have the motor anymore and I can't remember much about it. The following web site is where a lot of the NBRA Mod guys post you might ask there:

seems like your gettin it bh/, thinkin they brushed them back out of the bore .002-.003 thou. at the factory, cuzz they are guna get hot, cuzz they are tall and thin and can't cool as fast as the rest of the cyl. makes them grow and stay that way. thinkin they will grow and choke the bore size if i don't move them out, just was seein if 2-3 thou. was what everybody else was doin

Yep...thats them. I have a 45 omc that I have been fool'n with. I put the 2 barrel carbs on it, and a side exaust manifold with stingerpipe. To make it work I had to raise the exaust ports to reach the pipe's effective rpm range. I also had to re direct the exaust straight out rather than downward by shaping the ports. It's a monster, I hope to run it in FEH next year.
