  • Pro Motor Check valve ?????

Last weekend in DePue. I noticed that some of you guys were using a small plastic check valve for your pressure line. Instead of the big old Koing type of check valve. Where can get these small ones at?

    Thanks,
    Mark

The Thirlby automotive trailer or your local auto parts store. Straight, 100% check valve without relief. Often used on A/C systems I believe.

      Ford Check Valve Info

If you can use a full pressure check valve on your motor, I like to use Ford's Motorcraft part number DY451 (E4FZ-12A197-A) valve. Our local Ford dealer does not stock this part (not much demand for it), so I must special order the valves from Ford's central parts warehouse system through our local dealer's Parts Dept. These valves are used on Yamato and Rossi pro motors.

Do not use the Ford check valve on a Konig. The Konig works best with the calibrated, metal can check valve (that has the adjustment screw on it) to insure the right pressure threshold (ask Ed Thirlby, I think he told me it's around 3 lb) is maintained for proper operation.

I hope this helps you find what you want to end up using. I have tried heart surgery and equivalent GM check valves also, but the Ford valve fits the pressure feed line size I have better, has been reliable so far, and is more compact. Always cap off your pressure line when it is not attached to the tank so the valve does not collect moisture (Ed's advise).

We ONLY sell the Premium "Standard" brand of Check Valve which will cost you around 9 or 10 dollars....... Which is well worth it when you can go an entire race season on one Check Valve (For the 125cc)!

Yep, they are great. I have ran them also. And yes, if taken care of they should last an entire season.

                          Rossi

Rex Hall has them for the Rossi's as well.

What would one consider proper maintence for a check valve ?
