  • Propshaft seal, Chrysler racing gearcase

Anyone know where I can buy a propshaft seal for my Chrysler racing gearcase?
The part #is 320146. I heard there may be back to back seals. I`m afraid to remove the old one and try to match it up at a bearing house, if I can`t find one then I`m screwed. I only run this motor at the AOMCI meets, and as of now I drain and change the oil after every run.

Most any designer will choose to use off the shelf parts for things like bearings and seals unless there is some compelling reason for a special part. I'm guessing that the Chrysler gearcase was such a limited design that it uses standard size seals. You can measure the shaft diameter and maybe get the diameter of the bore the seal fits into and go to a bearing supply shop and see what they have before you open it up. But then, oil is still cheap to replace every time you run it.

A member of AOMCI E-Mailed me with the correct part #9822 oil seal. Napa ordered me two, one for a spare. It looks like it will fit.
