  • getting started need engine

I have built a ten foot 3 point hydroplane and want to get into racing. I have no idea what kind of engine I should put on this, I beleive it is a C class hydroplane. Also I am near The Annapolis Maryland area, any one know anyplaces there are races I can race in, Also I am 17 so I don't know if that will make a difference with the classes. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to region 4 yes there are a alot of us right around the corner from you in DC Maryland and VA. Sam Cullis lives in your area and should be able to mentor you.

Your boat can be run with a Yamato 80 in 20SS or CSH with a Yamato 102 or 302.

    Welcome!

Feel free to call me if you need more info or how to contact Sam.

Before you buy a motor lets make sure your boat meets specs. Is your boat a home made boat or did you buy plans from a builder ? Let Sam take a look at the boat first to make sure its a legal APBA hull.

Can you post a few photos or send them to me via email

Let Sam stop by and take a look, he is in your area and might have time one weekend. Dont buy a motor just yet.

                rules and guidelines

Where can I find a set of rules at? Is anything aloud to be done to the motor in the 2 classes I would be able to race in? Because that is what I am good at motor work, just wondering.

Both clases are pretty much stock, if you are looking to mod your stuff you might want to buy a C- Mod boat, that will allow you to trick the same motor
