Just curious how do most decide where to mount the engine on a Hydro.
Center of hull, center of cockpit, center of air traps ?

We use center of cockpit, which is offset.

I have run a Giles / Hemp / Bezoats and all set up center of air traps. Per Bill Giles

Depends on boat and driver. I've set them up with offset cockpit both center of cockpit and center of air trap. My current boat requires center of air trap otherwise it drifts left especially with the 500 mod motor!

I would just suggest that you test all the variations to find what is the best for your particular boat and driving style. Good luck with your testing. Even with different propellers it might be better at a particular location.
