i would like to hear from those that have good ideas on how to pull pipes foreward. thanks steve
Mount a horizontal slide to the floor of the boat (two aluminum channels with a plywood board between them - attach a couple of aluminum angles cross-wise spaced about 6 " apart to have something to push against) and attach it to a vertical lever (cut a slot into slide for the lever end) mounted to the side coaming. Attach a cable to the end of the lever opposite the slide and to the pipes. The pivot point should be about 1/2 the length of the lever. To operate use your one foot to push back the slide which moves the lever which pull the pipes forward.
Try this for a visual. This also has a gas assist for more than one but not needed to work. Stops one inch or so from the throttle so as not to pinch fingers, use bicycle cable with a return spring attatched to pipe itself to pull pipe back.
