  • cylinder head?

What is the best cylinder head to run on a 49cc 3cyl OMC?

    The Same

Usually the same one that comes on the crankcase are pretty decent. This is what we do.

        heads??

The OMC parts book for the late '70s motors show a hi-compression head option, likely the one used on the [some?] Stingers. You can accomplish the same thing by cutting .050" or more off a stock head. Some go further ,
but it is a trade secret how far u can go without experiencing piston problems, or breaking into a water jacket, or ??. Have also heard some say the early 55-60hp head , with the strange pocket in it, was the way to go, but can not believe that. Really do not know what OMC was thinking back then. Re; 'Stingers', -I have never seen one any diffent than a 75hp power head, although there were variations, and I am still looking.
