    trim limit

Just wondering if anyone knows a good way to Have the trim cutout at a predetermined height?
I am trying to setup one of my boats to do a circuit race, this particular hull is very sensitive to excessive trim, so it would be nice if i could leave the corner & just trim up & have it cut out at the right spot. engine is mercury 60hp sea pro on a hoffman 45ss hull.

It has been a long, long time since I've run tunnel boats (SST-140) and I have no idea how to do what you are asking. However, I had a trim indicator on the dashboard. To the left was fully tucked under and to the right was fully trimmed out; in the middle was dead level. Maybe something like that would work for you as you can see exactly where you have the trim set.

In 1979,, we had a new 80 hp, 4 cyl. Mercury with trim and tilt.
On the side of the motor was a button like piece with a tab adjacent.
As you trimmed out, the tab would slide over the button.. When the tab
went past the button,, the plunger type button would pop out and at that
point would not trim any farther.. One could adjust the tab plate to allow
for more or less trim. Maybe you could fine one in some dealer's bone pile.
I always kept mine adjusted to the high side, which eventually caused me problems,
as I sucked 2 reeds through the crankcase.. Luckily they did not score a cylinder wall.

          Trim Limit

It would take longer to explain how to do it than it takes to make it work . Basically you mount an outboard type cable (33C) to the trim unit so that the inner cable moves as the trim is in motion - Anchor the inner cable to the mounting point of the moving trim cylnder and the outer cable to the stationary part of the trim cylnder . The cable is run unto the hull and mounted to a spot near the trim wire harness . Morse makes all sorts of cable mounts and clips that makes this easy . use an ajustable stop on the inner cable that allows the cable to open a micro switch on the (blue ) up side of your trim swithh - Pro trim or button on the wheel of floor ) as the motor trims up the inner cable opens the trim circut on the up side --and the trim stops . hope this helps
