This site is riddled with inconsistencies/inaccuracies...
as has been pointed out before when info about it appeared on HR.
If you want to use it for ethanol free gas for race purposes where fuel is tested, and disqualification results if any is found, and what appears on this site is going to be your only guide, BE VERY CAREFUL.
This information is posted by folks who can't read, where pumps state very plainly that up to 15% ethanol is contained, by station owners/operators who want recreational vehicle/boat business that they know they won't get if they notify the public that their gas contains ethanol, locations where is it not required it be posted on the pump about the percentage of ethanol contained, and others who just plain don't understand.
If you believe everything "Wikapedia" has on their site, use this one with full confidence!!
NOT DISSING THE USE OF GASOLINE CONTAINING ETHANOL, JUST BE CAREFUL IF YOU USE THIS SITE AS THE ONLY SOURCE OF LEGAL FUEL, WHERE GAS CANNOT CONTAIN ANY FOR RACING PURPOSES.Last edited by bill van steenwyk; 08-12-2011, 06:10 PM.

As someone who has a pleasure type boat now, I have found that many locations where lakes that have a high pleasure boat population are located, also have facilities that sell ethanol free gas, including marinas,(usually much higher priced because of EPA regs on storage) convenience stores, regular stations, etc.
Reason for this is the problems with these type engines and many folks experience with water absorbing properties of ethanol laced gas, when it is filled with this gas and then stored for long periods of time with it in the tank, lines, and other parts of the fuel system of outboard motors. As has been previously discussed on other threads on this site, and publicized by the outboard motor manufacturers, there are many additives and ways to overcome this, but it has been a problem in the past for many.
This seem to be because sellers want to offer all the pleasure boat traffic around these recreational areas ethanol free gas because of current or perceived problems, so it is a good place to look, with or without the help of these two sites mentioned. Most of the ethanol free gas sold in these areas is also 91 octane or higher.
