      My favorite

My favorite propbuilder is Ron France from Canada. I've won with his props in ASH and CSH. I have a couple of FAH records with his props. His props win and if I'm not mistaken Dean Sutherlin uses them, I think if I'm wrong tell me. He does great work. I love Dewald props. My stepdad and I have invested a lot into Dewald props, there great props. I also believe that Betu Spedding used to use France wheels when he was winning championships and setting records in the A class several years ago too.

My favorites are Ron France and Craig Dewald. Both have made great wheels for my son and I.

          Props

My vote is for Ron France, but it is hard to get props for classes Ron is running. We have to settle for Dewald for ASH as we haven't been able to talk Ron into letting us run his props against him. There are some good Dewalt props too........... which reminds me, I think I have one I am supposed to send back.

            Props

I really have been back a short time compared to alot of you guys. But I can't find enough good things to say about Craig Dewald. He has helped me out a lot and fast service. Always has time to talk and will do about whatever it takes to get a guy going. Thanks Craig

              Craig and David Dewald

My vote is for these two. The real neat thing is that they build winning props for J-stock up through Unlimited Lights. They work with each and every customer to get the most out of his or her boat. They don't care if is is going 38 MPH or 138 MPH. As long as it is going faster. They do everything "In house" or should I say "In barn" except for pouring the actual casting. They eat, sleep and drink boat racing propellers. They have tried a ton of stuff looking for an edge in propeller devlopment. One blades....all the way up to six blades.

              Yea...The best.

                Fastest props..........

I have to put my vote in (posthumonously) for Floyd Hopkins and Pop Smith. If either one of these gentlemen were alive to do this job, we would be going a whole lot faster than we are. I remember the last time I talked to Pop Smith regarding my 700 hydro. His line of questioning was "Are you still driving the Butts D boat, and how fast do you want to go. Two weeks later, I won Lakeland against the best drivers in the U.S. by half of a lap. I wasn't a good driver, just good at hanging on..................Dave Dewald also built the best props for my 250/350 boats.

When did Floyd die? Must have been in the last 2 or 3 months??? I haven't heard anything about it.

                    Best props.....

I haven't been in contact with anyone in the family or some time but heard through the grapevine that The Boss had passed away several years ago. He and my Dad were good friends and he gave us many MPH's we would'nt have had without him. Not sure if I am right here, depending on info from others. If you see Hap Mulvany on here, he could probably give you better info.........

Unless it happened since Labor Day, he's still with us. There's no mention on their web site. http://www.hopkinsprops.com

                            Best Prop Maker

I vote for Mr. Czaplewski. He passed quite a few years back but his work was flawless and it always did what he said it would do.

                              Floyd Hopkins

Floyd Hopkins is definately deceased, at least two years ago, possible more. There was notification and tributes on this web site and other boat racing sites. Wish it wasn't so as be built me some championship propellors and was a good friend also, but as Gene East says, he has retired to "Lake Paradise".
