    I believe that it is legal to bypass the original fuel line hook-up on the Mercury ASX engines.

    Question 1.):Is it legal to bypass that same fuel line hook-up on the OMC A engines too?

    Question 2.):If the answer is yes, does the opening where the connector was removed have to be taped closed?

    Yes it is legal to bypass the original fuel line hook-up on the OMC.
    Yes the opening created must be closed back up. tape works or you can use an appropriately sized rubber bushing. how it is closed back up is not a concern.
