I had a good conversation today with a guy from the British speedway board of control. Last year they sent a memo around warning scrutineers that they must not rev engines then pull the cut off cord. This puts undue stress on the coils and stator and they will then stop working efficiently. They also replace the items if the crash and have to pull the cord whilst at full revs as they know they will cause future problems. Maybe this is the reason why selettra and pvl seem to be so unreliable.
