The Bass set up is neat, dont have one but its self explanetory. From what I see theres 3 kinds of thrust brackets the dog bone, or home-made pin sleeve, the transome mount and the other motor mounted. Ive got the transome mount type, it eliminates the shuddering you sometimes get when powering up to get on plane but it can move if not adjusted & set screwed or blocked in place. The BTM motor mounted looks cool because it does what the transome mount type does & goes one better by raising or lowering with the motor.

      No Matter What

Have a secondary in case one fails. For most the simple factory stock pin will work. If you have a fancy tower with those precise ange adjustments built into it, you should make sure to have a thrust bracket installed in case it slips. Or at least put another bolt through and tighten it to help prevent slippage.

From experience, this is a great idea. It prevents nasty wrecks in extreme cases, and in most cases prevents you losing 5MPH when the engine kicks under to much from all the stress.

If the engine kicks out you have more serious issues to deal with than worrying about that.
