found a old racer but what was it

they said it was 12 ft so i think that fits as a sst 45 can this hull be cleaned up and raced again as is with the new hardware and safty gear
or is it just to old ??

Looks like an old Grand Prix 45 hull, no it cannot be raced, yes you can have tons of fun just playing on the local lake if you wish. The current SST 45 class is a mandatory capsule class where the top drivers reach speeds in the high 80's

That boat is from an era long gone!

i thought i might a had a little jewel there for a second a freind found it on craigslist
i almost had a fe 80 boat a while back but i was building a v6 for my other boat
from what i found so far there are no fe 80 frame kits avalible yet
i talked with sorrenson a couple a months ago

What it was, I wouldnt have known. What it looks like now is an old polyester resin & gel coat fibre glass hull with wood bracing. What I do know is to look the wood over well especially low where the rain may have settled. Some of it Im sure will be hard to get to & if it needs re-work you might have to split the top from the bottom to do it.
That said its a cool boat that Id think worth doing & could be set up with a fun motor no problem, be pretty fast low cost performance.

From the height of the transom it was a Sport C boat. A 45 has a much shorter transom. With some mods it could still be raced in the Sport C class.
