    Cockpit sides

    B Zoats and Hemp and Flyer started to make higher sides, but they seemed to limit the height to the number of sides they could get for the best use of building materials(4x8 plywood 16" sides minus table saw blade kerf). We started building them higher as a request. Then as we secured some composite panels we went even a little higher with out sacrificing the Center of gravity. We still stick to a nominal width of materials, which has been 19" on the last couple of boats. 38" widths of carbon or kevlar. That is not to say that is all that is out there, but that is what we have had.

    Hydro is my second class and I will not go back to lower sides. I feel much more comfortable with the high sides....

      No cut out

      Here is the photo I remember seeing. No cut out, throttle mounted inboard.
