  • looking for this coil

    hi all,

i'm restoring a 125cc quincy z engine i bought from frankcis lotta over the summer. larry used the blue coil shown in the picture. i've been to a 2 cycle repair shop and they never saw one. i know it was made by prestolite but am having no luck finding one. anyone out here know where i can get one or what it came off of? would like to get a new one but a nice used one that works is good too.

        Trivia Question?

        Nic,

You didn't recognise the engine? FYI...my dad built that one for me when I was 11 years old after we broke a block on the first one!

        Frank,

That is a prestolite coil. It was originally used on a Pioneer brand chainsaw. At the time my dad started using them on outboards OMC owned Pioneer.

        Regards,

I was going to say, Pioneer chainsaw of late 60's vintage. Also, look at coils from Husqvarna or Partner cut off saws. They are pretty close.
