Guys,
I know there are a couple of Hydro racers running 1000cc Motorcycle engines in R1000 class Hydros in Europe does anyone have any experience in this field I am intrigued as to how the driveline is set up, do they run a slipper clutch or special gearbox or just a converter to take the power off the former chain sprocket drive. The power to weight ratio of these plants is a massive bonus but how do they harness the power and what type of couplings are used to deliver the 10,000rpm and 120bhp from the engine. I believe they commonly use Honda Fireblade and Yamaha R1 engines. There is only one
R1000 class hydro running in UK as far as I know and that uses an adapted seadoo engine.
Many thanks
