Mark 20H clamp bracket casting #

Is the correct casting number on the original Mercury Mark 20H clamp bracket 1400-21? Thank you.

That is a casting number, but the one on my 20H says MD 4625. Don't know which one is correct.

20H clamps...........

Barry, the part number for the 20H clamps is 1400 - 21A 1. The casting number is MD 4625 and is located on the top left side of the clamp ( looking at the back of the motor ). The part number is not on any of the clamps that I have. Hope this helps.

The part number on the parts list that I have does say 1400-21A1 as you indicated. But the clamps that came on the standard tower that I recently bought also has the casting number 1400-21 at the location that you mentioned. There is a couple of indications that these clamps may very well not have been the ones that came originally on the tower. However, the swivel is correct since it has the serial number plate.

MD 4625 does ring a bell with me. Although I was wondering. Is it possible that later 20H engines had a different clamp assembly? This one is a 1956 by the serial number plate on the swivel. It seems odd that the part number is 1400-21A1 and the casting number on these clamps is 1400-21. Just wondering.
