        I think Steve was asking if we could tell if this particular block was a 55, 60, 70 or 75

        Are you sure this one is a 75? How can you tell?

          This is a 75 hp. When I got the motor the clamp bracket and motor cover were missing. Due to the large carbs, intake and color of the block it could very well be a Stinger model.

            If the block is painted gray it is a 1984 Johnson 70 hp if it doesn't have the beveled exhaust port.....
