  • Need Solid Motor Mounts for Merc J/AXS

I need to find a set of the Merc solid motor mounts, or at least the dimensions. I have roughly 2- 2 1/2 weeks to have this done, so time is of the essence.

Well you can cut hockey pucks down to size to work. Or drill holes in the rubber mounts and fill with epoxy.

Two ways to do it yourself. The Merc mounts are made from a fairly flexible rubber. Hockey pucks are much stiffer and happen to be the exact right thickness. You gotta cut the puck to get pieces like the main part of the Merc rubber mount but it is cheap.

Or you can cut some moderate sized holes in the existing mount and then fill the holes with epoxy. I have used a hole saw- maybe 5/8 inch dia and cut two holes in the side-to-side direction and fill them and when it is hard, cut another in the fore-aft direction and fill this hole. It stinks to cut the holes as the saw gets hot and melts the rubber as much as cutting it but it does work well.
