So much for under the radar. I've been keeping my eye on this and hoping it would stay undiscovered
I am sure it will go through the roof.. I talked to the guy, and it sounds like it may need a full rebuild... I bought it out of a barn years ago and painted the exhaust on it, no time to finnish the project..

Was the block and bores in good shape? And if it was ported, who did it? Hopefully, someone who knew what they were doing.
The pipes looked awefully old, Not the prefered wet filler block and big port ehxaust system.
Did it have KA carbs. Or the bigger KC series carbs?
Did it have fiber reeds?
That towerhousing looked about 4 feet tall.
The lower unit could be used for racing, if everything inside is still good. Course, you'd have to cut the driveshaft down to a reasonable length.
I wonder if the Mag internals and externals were ok?
It did have a cool flywheel.
Was the boat an old Alky boat? 15ft long!
I'm sure there are some historical values tied to this outfit. But I doubt there was much there that was ready for current D mod racing.

Hi guys,
I am not really a collector but I am the one who bought this outfit. This guy was an hour away from my house and stated in his ad that he would sell at a reasonable price. I was quite surprised he sold it to me but he had absolutely no room to store at his house.
The story goes that he found this boat in an abandoned house on the Ohio River. The owner of the house was contacted and he sold it to the guy listing it on Ebay about a year ago. At least that's the story I got.
The motor is in fantastic condition and doesn't appear to need anything. I pulled the foot and it turns over fine but I will disassemble and evaluate it later this week or next. The engine has great compression and is marked Lowrey boats and services, St. Louis, on the cast aluminum spray shield bracket covering the carbs. That's about as far as I got before a butt chewing from my wife for buying yet another motor ( I told her it was her mothers day present!)
The boat is amazing. Impeccable workmanship from a top notch builder. It needs refinished but is solid as a rock. I doubt this is still competitive but if anyone is interested in it, let me know. They can have it for a very reasonable price. Otherwise it is going to hang on a wall in my basement after I refinish it. If anyone can tell me any additional information on the boat I would appreciate it.
As far as the motor is concerned, it's for sale also. I'm not going to lie to you guys, I bought this motor strictly to sell or trade for a "B" motor. Preferably a stock Hot Rod or 20H. I might also consider equipment trades in the form of A B C quickey gear cases and/or Hot Rod gear cases/towers. Yamato engines or any combination of the above might also be a possibility as would a two or three boat trailer. I'm not looking to make a killing here just a fair trade. Lowrey Boats
They were based in the St Louis area. Built boats from the late 60`s thru the 70`s. Had two of their C,D,E hydros. High quality good running boats. As far as I know they never made a picklefork hydro. They sold the sprayshield you mentioned. They were big in racing in the midwest sold quite a lot of boats. And yes they made the first Seebold tunnels.
