    Thanks for the post, Steve.

I can't tell for sure from the pics of the pistons. Hopefully David will come on and verify. I sent you email about the crankcase.

      Barry,

Those pistons came from a Quincy built padded C Merc. They may or may not fit the pads in your motor. Probably will, but there are no guarantees as a lot of different things were tried on that old alky stuff.
      ...

OMC FE/SE powerhead parts for sale. Kurcz ported block, Mod 50 pistons and cylinder head, exhaust, etc.

Thanks for the post, David. I appreciate you verifying that they came from a Quincy deflector C. I know there would be no guarantee that they would be a match for my padded A block, but they would fit in some other A block, I am sure.

          Thanks again.

Thanks, Steve. My Dad is building the boat. He has built boats for many years under the name RichCraft. We talked about what to build and he laid it out. The hydro is a compilation of race-proven design ideas from the past, but is not a copy of any other boat. It's interesting. One person thought it looked like a Sid. Someone else thought it looked like a Bezoats. And before the cowl was on, another person wondered if it was a copy of a Marchetti. It's none of those, actually. Dad would have gladly built me a picklefork if I wanted it, but I wanted one of these. I wanted a boat that I thought would nicely represent an earlier era of boat racing for AOMCI meets. Sadly, most of the old conventional hydros are gone - rotted, busted up, burned or whatever. You just don't see them too much anymore, even at AOMCI meets. So, I just thought it would be nice to have one - a new one. I am really happy with the boat. Dad has really done a great job building it for me.

                    Steve,

I offered you PayPal for payment. You could have had the payment literally in minutes. But for some reason you didn't want PayPal for payment. You wanted a check. So, that's what I sent. I also sent you EMAIL indicating that the payment was on the way on 02/09. Is there a particular reason you felt the need to post this publicly?

Anyway, if you don't get the check in a few more days, let me know via EMAIL. The check has not been cashed. I just checked. Give it a day or two more and let me know. Thanks. Sorry it's taken this long, but again, that's why I like PayPal.

I have not ever had a speedy response time sending to or receiving from Canada. I can send an AirMail package or letter to Sweden, Germany, France in 7-8 days. Even Australia isn't much longer. But it has always been a long and involved process to and from Canada. I don't know if it's the US Post Office or the Canada Post (or both). But it's rough.

Thanks again and keep us posted on this motor !!!!.....Have you run Merc / Quincy alky motors before???.....I traded a A-Looper to Craig Dewald a couple years ago that I bought for the 20H case, but was in pieces when I got it........single ring, flat top pistons, block and horns were interest'n!...Not sure if Craig has done anymore with it, but he said he ran'm in their day.........
