Geez Cheney, I'd given you up for dead or something near to that!!! Didn't have a new phone number for you, but left messages on your old number in case it was still to you. Left you emails. Spud says you tried returning my emails... probably got sucked off as SPAM and I didn't catch it. Bummer we didn't connect.... oh well!! What have you been up to? Heard you and your brother were going to get back in the game. Think you can still drive hard? Figured you would be beach race'n with all of the other old and beat up geesers. Give me a shout back..... could use your thoughts on a project I'm working on.

Ever try Grainbelt? Don't know whether it is still brewed, but at the Winona Mn. PRO Nationals in the mid 70's I believe, Grain Belt had a beer tent there. Might have even been sponsoring the race if I remember right. Anyhow early Sunday afternoon they realized they were going to have a LOT of beer left so they made an announcement free beer the rest of the day. I don't know about the public, but the boat racers would not drink it , it was so bad. There are exceptions to every rule, even rare as they may be concerning boat racers and beer, and that was one I thought I would never see and never have since.

Bill - Remember at Billy Seebold's tunnel boat race here in Saint Louis about 1972 or so and at the end of the day they were giving away beer at the beer stands and you scored a whole tray of Falstaff and I did the same with Budweiser. You and I were swapping cups of beer back-and-forth, while Ernie LaRose had his hand our trying to get one. But you and I kept our prize to ourselves.
