Anyone know of a good beginner boat package in Maryland area - I have been to 2 races and just watched- wanted to know who lives near Frederick Maryland area that i could contact to get started? thanks
Darren
Once the guys in Region 3 & 4 see your post you should get several replies. Dont worry there are tons of boats in region 3 and 4 that are potentially for sale.
What class were you looking at ?
Defibo's have an ASH and CSH for sale in Delaware all good stuff. The Augustine camp might have something for sale also located in Maryland they check the site regularly. If you cant find something local there are always boats for sale within a few hours drive north or south of Maryland you might have to drive a few hours but plenty of boats are in Jersey etc. I say start with the Defibo camp who are just up the road in Delaware or try the Augustine bunch who live right outside the beltway both good choices for information and starter rigs.

what class are you interested in? Hydros or runabouts? There are alot of rigs for sale here on HR, some top notch stuff!
Welcome to Region 4 Darren! If you are coming down the Annapolis area anytime PM me. The boat the DeFibos have in Delaware is a very good buy and definitly worth the drive to get. Another person to ask might be Bill Znanic in Queenstown or Chester (somewhere near Kent Narrows, anyway).
Depending on your weight and what exactly you were looking for the Defibo ASH would be an excellent choice! if this is in your budget you will be one happy camper. Bob Abbott up in Canada has a $400 double trailer that he might hold until spring if its paid for. As you can see by the number of replies already we can find you just about anything you might need
Go to trora.com and check out our race schedule. Its not complete but the four races we are hoping to have are listed. More details as they materialize over the winter. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or while at the website, click on contact us and e-mail Jerry Brewster our club commodore.
Dan- after the holidays I hope to make it down to your area to see your boats and learn some stuff- give me a call after Jan 1st and we can get together on a sat or so- thanks for the info and phone conversation- I appriciate your willing to help me get into this this summer-
I am in a semi retirement mode at the moment but you are welcome to come on down any way and maybe we can swing by the Augustine ranch which is right around the corner from my place, Big Dave Sr. Davey, Ian and Sean are all active racer and I could introduce you to the gang. They usually have a yard and trailer full of rigs to look at and get a few ideas on what class you might be interested in. Shoot me a PM after the first of the year and I will set up a tour of camp Augustine for you remember once inside the Augustine compound do not feed the animals
