Lewis Custom Hydros acquires MRC Hydroplanes LLC.
(Seattle, WA) Lewis Custom Hydros is pleased to announce the acquisition of the assets and designs of Montana Race Craft hydroplanes from Mike and Teresa Phillips.
The Phillips purchased the designs, molds and assets from Marc Johnson Racing (MJR) in 2010 and sold many sets of plans and built many competitive hulls in the Stock and Modified outboard classes.
With Mike and Teresa retiring from the racing industry and moving to other interests, the timing was right to move forward with their sale of assets to keep the designs and plans available to other racers wishing to build and race their own hulls.
These proven hull designs have won multiple national championships and have set world records racing under sanctioned APBA races throughout the United States.
New owner Carl Lewis has been involved in many aspects of hydroplane racing over the years from Unlimited, inboard, factory tunnel boats down to the grass roots of racing, outboards.
Having started his racing career in 1969 racing numerous outboard classes, he finally opened the doors full time at the request of many racing friends and family three years ago building many new hulls along with his own designs and numerous repairs for racers on the west coast.
Lewis Custom Hydros is a full-service shop for new builds, repairs, updates and now, full size plans for new construction. They can be reached at mrlou40@msn.com.
