Which Mercury was the Wizard 10 equivalent to? The KE-7 Lightning, the KF-7 Super Ten, or the KG-7 Super Ten Hurricane?

There were several Wizard 10's just like there were several Mercury 10's... The chart in the link below shows the relation between Mercury and the Mercury-built Wizard engines sold by Western Auto (by the way, there is no info or documents to support that any Wizards were ever built for Western Auto as race engines... It's believed they were either dealership builds or homebuilts by adding Mercury racing parts)

Thank you for quite a revealing comparison between Wizards and Mercurys.

Another fact that I heard about the Wizard motors... Were there blocks made that were 17.5 cubic inches... basically half way between a KG4 and a KG7? Is this true? I never saw one.

Dean, an acquaintance of mine in Florida, Cookie Fernandez, had one of those blocks and raced locally as an "A".

Correct Dean, almost... The "B" size Wizards were 18.34 ci and the "A" size Wizards were 11 ci. More than likely, the Wizards in the top post of this thread have blocks & pistons from the KG-7 and/or the Mark20/25 which were the 19.8 ci displacement engines in stock form. The KG-4/Mark15 engines were 14.89 ci in stock form.

Referred to as "Southern A's" when raced!!!
I have a block, rings and welded up pistons to increase compression if anyone is interested in recreating a Southern A plus other parts.
