Looking for 44xs recoil

That's a tough one... Do you need the entire assembly, or just a housing or another part to repair an existing manual starter? I searched for over a year and bought a couple of the wrong ones (from earlier Merc500 & Merc402 engines) that didn't fit. Even the fishing engine version from a Mercury 45hp "Classic50" had a parts/service upgrade and the rope sheave has to be matched to other parts inside.
I ended up finding a brand new one (out of box, but still brand new) off ebay from a dealership in the UK for $85 including shipping! I was thrilled. I still need one more, but it's not an immediate need. I could look up my researched parts.
I "THINK" that AIM Outboards in Ottawa, Canada figured out a bracket to make the older Merc500 & Merc402 recoil work on the 44XS block. If you find out that is true and you're willing to go that route, then I have a complete ass'y to sell you.
