102 coils

I am looking for 2 bad 102 coils. I want to try to rewind them to refurbish bad ones. Anyone have 2 to sell me send me a PM.

John any update on the coil rewind project yet?

I found out like many before me that rewinding these is not practical for a guy in his garage. The secondary wire is just too small, hair like tiny wire. But rewinding the primary is well within reason, being #24 ga wire and only 5 layers. This means the pick up coil can be rewound and used with external secondary coils like TJ has for sale. Bob Johnson and I did this with Nova II points and it seems to work really well. Have to give Bob credit for the idea to just rewind the primary. I have not raced with this combination yet but it sure lights up the plugs well on the bench. We have to time with a timing light with Nova points but not if you use old style points. These original coils seem to work better than the Y80 coils. If you rewind the primary, make sure you wind the same direction as the original 102 coil.
